WhatsApp voice messages have become even more secure.

When utilizing the “view once” feature for sending media and voice messages, it’s essential to actively select the “view once” option for each photo, video, or voice message. Once dispatched, the sent content becomes inaccessible for subsequent views. Verification of whether a recipient has accessed the “view once” media requires the activation of read receipts.

Significantly, any photos or videos transmitted in this manner won’t be retained in the recipient’s Photos or Gallery, and the inability to capture screenshots ensures an added layer of privacy. Exercise caution by limiting the sharing of “view once” media to individuals in whom you have trust.

It’s crucial to acknowledge that, despite the ephemeral nature of “view once” content, resourceful recipients might find alternative means to preserve the media, such as capturing it before expiration. Encrypted media undergoes temporary storage on WhatsApp servers for a brief period.

In the event of a recipient reporting “view once” media or voice messages, WhatsApp website gains access to the content. Notably, Android users can leverage the native screen recorder to capture “view once” voice messages.

Upon reception of “view once” media, recipients are required to open it within a 14-day timeframe; otherwise, it automatically expires from the chat. Sharing, saving, starring, or forwarding such content is strictly prohibited. While restoration from backups is feasible for unopened messages, once opened, retrieval becomes unattainable.

It’s imperative to highlight that capturing screenshots of “view once” media is expressly forbidden, reinforcing the ephemeral and secure nature of this communication feature.
